South Korean actor Park Bo Gum emerged as the frontrunner in the online poll for the male star who looks best in Hanbok, which is a traditional Korean clothing.
The survey, conducted by the online education academy Seven Edu from Aug. 23 to Sept. 20, showed Park Bo Gum with a voter preference rating of 36 percent. The 25-year-old actor was loved for his role as Crown Prince Lee Yeong in the popular 2016 historical drama titled "Love in the Moonlight/Moonlight Drawn by Clouds."
"Park Bo Gum looked great in his Hanbok," Cha Gil Young, a lecturer at Seven Edu, said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "[He] showed remarkable style in his recent drama 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,' where he wore Hanbok that he had personally picked out for himself," he added.
Wanna One member, Kang Daniel, landed the second spot with 31 percent of the total votes. BTS member V and actor Park Seo Joon, who starred together in the 2016-2017 historical drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth," came in the third and fourth place, respectively. Rounding up the top five is actor Jung Hae In ("Something in the Rain") with 4 percent of the total votes.
In other news, Park Bo Gum will soon return to the small screen with a new melodrama series called "Boyfriend." He will star opposite "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo.
In the upcoming melodrama series, Park Bo Gum will play Kim Jin Hyuk, an ordinary young man who remains positive despite all the hardships in life. His life suddenly changes after he meets Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo), a daughter of a prominent politician and former wife to a chaebol.
Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo began filming early this month. It is also likely that the two Hallyu stars and the rest of the cast members will fly to Cuba in early October to shoot some scenes for the new television series there.
"We are planning on heading to Cuba, although we still have many things to arrange," a source from the production team said, as quoted by SBS News, before adding, "It's difficult to say that it has been 100% confirmed. For now, we are taking many things in consideration."
"Boyfriend," which also stars Pyo Ji Hoon (better known as P.O), Ko Chang Seok, Moon Sung Keun, and Nam Ki Ae, is set to air on tvN sometime in November.
