It looks like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are not BFF's any longer. A new report suggests that the former is allegedly furious with the latter for keeping in touch with her ex-husband, actor Justin Theroux.
According to the latest issue of In Touch Magazine (via Gossip Cop), Jennifer Aniston is allegedly upset that her best friend, Courteney Cox and her boyfriend Johnny McDaid, took some time out of their busy schedules to hang out with former husband Justin Theroux in New York City.
"Jen felt betrayed," an unnamed insider told the magazine. "It's the one real sore spot in her life right now. Jen can't stand to hear anything about him [Justin Theroux] or anyone she knows having anything to do with him... Jen was hurt and felt Courteney should have known better," the insider added.
The insider went on to say that Courteney Cox has apologized, explaining Justin Theroux only reached out to her and Johnny McDaid on the grounds that he was worried about Jennifer Aniston's well-being after their split. While the latter forgave her already, she hopes that Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid would stop meeting his ex-husband moving forward.
Not long after it made noise online, Jennifer Aniston's representative quickly brushed off the rumors of bad blood, stressing the two are still firmly on each other's team. The representative added that the idea that the 49-year-old actress and film producer loathing her former husband and forbidding her friends from seeing him simply is not true.
As a matter of fact, Justin Theroux recently talked about about his breakup with Jennifer Aniston. In an interview with The New York Times, the 47-year-old actor and film producer reiterated that their split was amicable unlike what the tabloids were claiming.
"It was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity," "The Girl on the Train" actor said in the interview, as quoted by ABC News. "Neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It's more like, it's amicable. It's boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be," he explained.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux tied the knots in mid-2015 after more than four years of dating. Three years later, they decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing their cherished friendship.
