Singer Jessica Simpson and former National Football League (NFL) player Eric Johnson, who have been married since July 2014, are still going strong, despite a report claiming that their marriage has hit rock bottom.

According to the September 2017 issue of Star Magazine (via Gossip Cop), Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have constantly been fighting over the former's heavy drinking habits. Despite that, the 38-year-old singer won't stop drinking alcohol completely.

An unnamed source claimed that the 39-year-old former football player has reached his breaking point and is reportedly planning to file for divorce from Jessica Simpson in the near future.

"[Eric Johnson] He's so sick of her antics and is seriously considering divorce," an unnamed source said to Star Magazine at the time. "He's tired of playing dad to their kids and his wife... But only time will tell if she gets her act together... or if she loses everything," the source added.

Now, a source close to Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have debunked the claim and stressed that the two are stronger than ever. The couple recently announced that they are expecting a third child.

Jessica Simpson shared the good news on her Instagram account on Sept. 18 along with the caption: "This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn't be happier to announce this precious blessing of life."

 
This comes shortly after Jessica Simpson admitted that she was having a baby fever now that her kids - six-year-old Maxwell Drew Johnson and five-year-old Ace Knute Johnson - are older.

"My daughter is about to turn 6, May 1st is her birthday, and my son is going to turn 5 on June 30th and it's just like, 'Wait, so this is no longer toddler, this is full-on kid,'" Jessica Simpson said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "My daughter [already] thinks she's a teenager. My son at least wants to be a baby still."

Jessica Simpson also shared the secret of a strong relationship with Eric Johnson. The singer and actress said she and his husband always make sure to spend quality time together without their kids despite their respective busy schedules.

As of press time, Jessica Simpson has taken a back seat with her career so she can spend more time working on her business ventures. She is currently busy with her maternity clothing line, bedroom decor line, signature fragrance line and her Warm Up brand of workout clothing.
