The rumor mill recently went on overdrive after news broke out that Ben Affleck is supposedly planning to propose to Shauna Sexton once the former completes his rehab.
Gossip Cop, however, blew this report out of the water, describing it as purely "fake news." According to the Hollywood news site which has gained notoriety for debunking false reports, rumors that the "Justice League" actor plans to tie the knot with the Playboy star is just a mere rehash of a National Enquirer article.
Gossip Cop alleged that the National Enquirer has in fact scored a double whammy: The first one was when the tabloid quoted an "insider" in a story, saying Ben Affleck was planning to wed Shauna Sexton while "in rehab."
The second whammy came when the Enquirer's online version reported that the award-winning actor planned to marry the sex symbol as soon as he leaves the center. But as it turned out, these reports were purely unfounded after they were eventually debunked by the "Batman vs Superman" star's camp.
The National Enquirer, however, continued to hold its ground as it came out with another story alleging that the actor-turned-director considered the starlet as "marriage material." It even went as far as saying that Ben Affleck wanted Shauna Sexton to be the "next Mrs. Affleck" and they were planning to "elope soon."
Again, Gossip Cop shot down this rumor, pointing that the Oscar-winner is still married to Jennifer Garner. Sensing that it was already losing its credibility over its inaccurate reportage, the Enquirer tapped its sister site Radar Online to continue pursuing the angle, inaccurate as it was from the very start.
According to Radar Online which quoted a still unnamed source in its story, "The Accountant" actor was hell bent on marrying the sexy star the "moment he's home" and will formalize everything "with a proposal." "He's totally in love with Shauna and wants them to live together the moment he's home, then he'll make it official with a proposal," the insider disclosed to Radar.
The online site reported that Ben Affleck and Shauna Sexton are indeed madly in love with each other, with the sexy star promising to end her boozy lifestyle in support of the actor. To prove her affection for the "Daredevil" actor, the Playboy bunny has continued to visit him in the center despite the objections of his medical team.
Radar Online's insider further disclosed: "Ben insists he's got his sobriety under control and he's ready to check out soon," adding, "But he's phasing it in by having these day releases in the meantime." Despite its improbability, the Ben Affleck - Shauna Sexton wedding continues to gain traction.
