Another angel has arrived. Actress Kate Hudson and her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, welcome their firstborn child, Rani Rose, on Oct. 2, Tuesday.
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa shared the happy news on Instagram Wednesday afternoon. On the same post, the two also explained the inspiration behind their daughter's name, revealing they decided to name her Rani (pronounced Ronnie), after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa.
"Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly," Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa captioned the image. "To name her after him is an honor... Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back."
It was back in April when Kate Hudson first confirmed her pregnancy. At the time, the 39-year-old actress told her Instagram followers about the things she endured during the first trimester and how difficult it was to kept mum about her pregnancy.
View this post on InstagramSURPRISE!!! If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children. Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food instagrams make me queezy and thinking too much about insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been. If you’ve seen me out and about smiling and pretending like everything is amazing...I was lying! BUT! I have broken through on the other end of that and rediscovering the joys of insta/snap. We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now! And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! While her pregnancy announcement comes as a surprise to many fans, Kate Hudson was open about her love for motherhood. The actress also vowed not to spoil her children.
"I love everything about being a mum. It's every cliché, the best job in the world," the "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" star said in a previous interview, as quoted by The Daily Mail. "I think it's important for them to know what's going on around them, other than what happens in Los Angeles, without protecting them from the atrocious things going on in the world at the moment," she explained.
Kate Hudson is already a mother to 14-year-old Ryder Robinson and seven-year-old Bingham Hawn Bellamy, her sons from previous relationships. Rani Rose is her first child with Danny Fujikawa, with whom she has been together for more than a year.
Kate Hudson first met Danny Fujikawa when she was still 23-year-old. They were introduced to one another by her best friends, Sara Foster and Erin Foster, who happen to be the latter's step-sisters.
Their romance came to light in March 2017 after they were spotted grabbing lunch together. Two months later, they made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of Kate Hudson's mom Goldie Hawn's comedy, "Snatched."
