According to the false site, Bravo executive Andy Cohen has asked the TV personality to join his network's "Real Housewives" franchise, and she is very interested in the idea.
A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Julie and Andy started their careers together as CBS interns before Julie went on to marry the boss. Andy has reached out to her, and they've been taking. She's rich and famous and everything the show is about."
The blog Naughty Gossip picked up the report, too, but added, "This isn't going to happen now but wait a little while, and you will see Julie on the 'Real Housewives.'" The site is conveniently buying itself time by giving an unspecified date for Chen's supposed participation on the show. Filming on Season 9 is currently underway, and the TV personality is not involved.
Still, an alleged "source" tells the outlet, "Andy is a great friend but an even better producer - he isn't going to let this opportunity pass him by. He wants her on his show and it could actually happen."
But Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to Julie Chen, who told the publication on the condition of anonymity that both reports are "absolutely false." She even assured that there are no plans to join the "Real Housewives" franchise and she has not been approached with the idea either. The premise was seemingly fabricated to capitalize on the recent controversy surrounding her husband.
It should be noted that when Julie Chen addressed her departure from "The Talk" last month, she stated that she is leaving "to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son." It is clear the TV personality wants to take a break from the spotlight at this time. Chen will continue to host "Big Brother," but that gig does not require her to discuss her issues.
It is absurd to believe that Julie Chen is eager to go on a reality show known for publicizing all the drama going on in one's life. The tabloid and blog are peddling a narrative that is both illogical and untrue.
