Sad news awaits Ariana Grande fans. The 25-year-old singer and actress will reportedly give music a break for an indeterminate amount of time.
On Oct. 10, Wednesday, Ariana Grande attempted to prank her fans by releasing a music video to her latest album's third single, "Breathin." The three-minute video starred her pet piglet, Piggy Smalls, who is curiously approaching the camera and walking around on a bed with a plush cover.
However, one Instagram follower was annoyed by it and commented: "This era is a joke and lazy." In response, Ariana Grande said that the three-minute video had been an attempt to please fans while she takes a short break from music. She added that an official music video with a proper storyline would be released at a later date.
"This era is beautiful to me but idk," Ariana Grande wrote, as quoted by NME. "Been thru hell and back and I'm doing my best to keep going. Thought this would make u laugh while u wait for the real one bc I took a break to take care of myself for a lil while. My b (Sic)," she added.
Before that, Ariana Grande will perform first at the upcoming Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala benefiting F**k Cancer in Los Angeles on Oct. 13, Saturday. She will be joined by actress Kristin Chenoweth and comedian Jeff Garlin.
The upcoming event will mark Ariana Grande's first public appearance following the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, on Sept. 7. In addition to her ex-boyfriend's death, the "God is a woman" singer is also struggling with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured more than 800 in a terrorist attack at the Manchester show of her "Dangerous Woman Tour" on May 22, 2017.
"Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend," Ariana Grande's representative said in a statement obtained by People Magazine. "She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without a deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding," the representative added.
In addition to the upcoming Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala, Ariana Grande will also hold a concert at The Chelsea in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Dec. 29 to kick off the last weekend of the year.
