It has been three years since Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their separation, yet it seems that the latter has not completely moved on yet. This after the 34-year-old singer and songwriter reportedly used their split as material for her new music.
In late September, Miranda Lambert debuted a brand-new song titled "Got My Name Changed Back" during her Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum residency. Although her Pistol Annies bandmate, Angaleena Loletta McCoy Presley, stressed that the song had "nothing to do with us and is about no one in this group," many noticed the title and lyrics were reportedly aimed at her ex-husband, Blake Shelton.
It takes a judge to get married, it takes a judge to get divorced. Well the last couple years I spent a lot of time in court. Got my name changed back. I got my name changed back. Well I wanted something new then I wanted what I had, I got my name changed back. — Laurel Dexter (@MadameGuinevere) September 28, 2018
Adding fuel to the fire, a source close to Miranda Lambert told In Touch Weekly that she is still scarred by her split with Blake Shelton. She reportedly wants to get back at him for the cruel way he broke her heart.
"Even though it's been more than three years now, Miranda and Blake's divorce feud is still going strong - and no one is safe," the source said. "She's not naming names in the new song and won't come out and admit it, but it's like the song has Blake's name written all over it."
It can be recalled that Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton tied the knots in May 2011 at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas after five years of dating. However, the two announced that they were divorcing in July 2015.
Since then, Miranda Lambert dated R&B singer Anderson East from December 2015 to April 2018. She also had a brief romance with Turnpike Troubadours frontman, Evan Felker, from February to August 2018.
Blake Shelton, on the other hand, is currently dating singer Gwen Stefani since November 2015. Ever since their relationship came to light, they have been the subject of relentless wedding rumors.
One recent rumor suggests Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani wants "American Idol" alum Kelly Clarkson to sing at their wedding in the near future. The wedding ceremony will be a small and intimate one, which will be attended by their families and closest friends.
Gwen Stefani's three children, 12-year-old Kingston, 10-year-old Zuma Nesta, and four-year-old Apollo Bowie - whom she shares with ex-husband, musician Gavin Rossdale - will reportedly act as the ring bearers at their much-awaited big day.
