Sad news for the South Korean boy band, Wanna One. The eleven-member group's new single "Spring Breeze" has leaked online, just days ahead of its official release.
Wanna One - Yoon Ji Sung, Ha Sung Woon, Hwang Min Hyun, Ong Seong Wu, Kim Jae Hwan, Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon, Park Woo Jin, Bae Jin Young, Lee Dae Hwi and Lai Kuan Lin - has been hyping the main track, "Spring Breeze," off their upcoming first full-length album for weeks by releasing promo images and shots from the accompanying music video.
However, the boy band's efforts went in vain as the music file, and lyrics for "Spring Breeze" has leaked out online. Several download links of the song's audio file were widely shared online via SNS platforms since Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Following the incident, the boy band's management agency Swing Entertainment has released a statement about the matter. They are currently investigating the incident and stressed that they would take strong action against whoever did it.
"We figured out what was going on right after the music file was leaked and took necessary internal measures, including reporting it to the police," Swing Entertainment said in a press statement obtained by Yonhap News Agency. "We're very sorry for that and will deal sternly with those who leaked the file."
This is not the first time Wanna One experienced such leaking incident. Back in March, the music files and lyrics for "Boomerang" and "Gold" were also leaked on social media just a couple of days ahead of its scheduled release.
In other related news, Wanna One member Park Ji Hoon happily talked about his close relationship with BTS members. During his guest appearance on KBS 2TV's "Happy Together 4," the 19-year-old K-pop idol revealed he often played video games with BTS members, V (whose real name is Kim Tae Hyung) and Jin (whose real name is Kim Seok Jin).
"He is very busy nowadays so I could not ask him to play games," Park Ji Hoon told "Happy Together 4" hosts Yoo Jae Suk, Park Mi Sun, and Park Myung Soo, as quoted by All Kpop. "Recently, I have also become close with Jin sunbaenim (a Korean term used to address senior or people who have more experiences) while playing games together."
Wanna One's first full-length album, "1¹¹=1 (Power of Destiny)," is set to be released on Nov. 19.
