Breaking News: Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo Devoice Rumors Come Ture, Song-Song Couple Ending Their Marriage
It has been a year since "Descendants of the Sun" stars Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki tied the knot in a private ceremony. Now, the 37-year-old South Korean actress candidly opened up about married life.
At the press conference for her upcoming television series "Boyfriend," Song Hye Kyo opened up about her one year long married life with Song Joong Ki. She said marriage does not change anything in their relationship.
"Nothing (in my life) has really changed (since marriage)," Song Hye Kyo said, as quoted by Yonhap News Agency. "[Song Joong Ki] He encouraged me to work hard and said he would closely monitor (my performance)," she added.
Song Hye Kyo went ahead to explain why she chose the upcoming tvN series as her comeback drama. She said she chose the project because she believes it will become a good production with Park Bo Gum as well as due to its outstanding script, which will benefit from the creativity of producing director Park Shin Woo, whose previous dramas include 2016's "Jealousy Incarnate" and 2014's "Angel Eyes."
In "Boyfriend," Song Hye Kyo plays the daughter of a prominent politician, Cha Soo Hyun, who suddenly divorced a man from a chaebol family. She is a cold-hearted and snobbish woman, but everything changes after she meets Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum), an ordinary man who has a bright and positive personality.
Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum will be joined by Jang Seung Jo as Jung Woo Seok, Ko Chang Seok as Nam Myung Sik, Shin Jung Keun as Kim Jang Soo, Baek Ji Won as Joo Yeon Ja, Moon Sung Geun as Cha Jong Hyun, Nam Gi Ae as Jin Mi Ok, and Kim Hye Eun as Kim Sun Joo.
"Boyfriend" is Park Bo Gum's follow-up drama after starring in the 2016 historical series, "Love in the Moonlight." It is also Song Hye Kyo's first project since the mega-hit series, "Descendants of the Sun."
Before Song Hye Kyo's involvement with "Boyfriend," several rumors suggest that the Hallyu star has been refusing to work on a new project due to her possible pregnancy. It all started when fans spotted her overly protecting her tummy area while out and about in South Korea.
Not long after it made noise online, Song Hye Kyo shed light on the matter during her guest appearance at Omega's store opening in Hong Kong. She debunked rumors that she is expecting her first child with Song Joong Ki and stressed that they want to take things slowly and let nature takes its course.
"Boyfriend" is set to premiere on Nov. 28 at 9:30 PM (KST) on tvN. While waiting, check out the one-minute teaser below:
