It has been 23 years since So Ji Sub debuted as an actor. In spite of that, the 41-year-old Hallyu star is still keeping his eyes on his ultimate goal as an actor.
Earlier this week, So Ji Sub debuted a more masculine look as he posed for the cover of @Star1 Magazine January 2019 issue. In an accompanying interview, he shared how he plans to leave a mark in the entertainment industry.
"Instead of being an actor who stands out alone in a project, I want to become someone who matches well," So Ji Sub said when asked about his goal as an actor, as quoted by Soompi. "I hope that the project will be a success so that the efforts of the people who made the project won't go to waste," he added.
So Ji Sub also talked about his latest drama "Terius Behind Me," where he played the role of a legendary black ops agent-turned babysitter named Kim Bon (also known as Terius). Since it was his first drama after an almost three-year hiatus, he was nervous before the pilot episode aired.
The Hallyu star also revealed he underwent massive preparation for the said role. In addition to going through intense physical training, he also made an effort in showing the character's humanistic charms so that his struggles and emotions while taking care of the twins Cha Joon So (Kim Gun Woo) and Cha Joon Hee (Ok Ye Rin) would not look awkward.
He also admitted that working with child actors Kim Gun Woo and Cha Joon Hee was physically difficult since they were always hanging on him. To get close with them, he always kept gummy candies inside his pocket.
Thankfully, all the effort and hard work were paid off as the 32-episode spy comedy-drama was well received by the audience. Many praised the drama's unique and refreshing storyline line, as well as the ensemble cast which consists of actors Jung In Sun, Son Hu Jun, Im Se Mi, Um Hyo Sup, Seo Yi Sook, Kim Sung Joo, Kim Yeo Jin, Kang Ki Young, Jung Si Ah and Cho Tae Kwan.
Currently, there is no word yet on So Ji Sub's next project. While waiting, fans can check him out in Lee Jang Hoon's recently released romance drama film "Be with You," which also stars veteran actress Son Ye Jin.
