Netflix is reportedly developing "Friends" reboot, but one of its main cast members Jennifer Aniston keeps on turning down the idea. However, this claim was confirmed to be a false report.
In Touch magazine recently claimed Netflix wants to produce "Friends" reunion, but Aniston isn't open with the idea, and she's hesitant to sign the project. The outlet cited a source saying the streaming service is getting closer making the idea happen and they are making offers that cast can't surely refuse.
The alleged insider asserted Aniston is the only one who's holding back. So, Netflix's executives are wearing her down because they promise a quality reboot. The untraceable tipster declares the reboot of the popular American sitcom will eventually happen in the future because the entire world is waiting for it to happen.
According to Gossip Cop, the report of the tabloid is only based on the claim of a non-existent source. A rep for Aniston confirmed the story is completely fabricated and made-up. The rep also made sure Netflix didn't approach the actress regarding the alleged plan about "Friends" reboot.
Also, Aniston recently appeared on "The Late Late Show With James Corden," where she revealed the reason that blocks the sitcom's reunion is that male cast members are less enthused, including David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc, and Matthew Perry. The actress shared the girls always loved to do it again, but the guys were less excited for some reasons.
Meanwhile, it's worth mentioning that this isn't the first time In Touch magazine made a false narrative regarding "Friends" reboot. Gossip Cop also busted the tabloid last year for claiming Lisa Kudrow will be starring in "Friends" spinoff. Until now, no such work ever happened.
The sister outlet of In Touch, the Star magazine, also wrongly reported in September that Aniston is planning to create "Friends" reboot starring the grown-up kids of the original cast members - meaning it will be a new generation to the classic and popular sitcom. But, that claim was similarly false just like the latest claim.
The sister outlets also contradict each other's claim, how is it possible Aniston is turning down "Friend" reboot if she's planning to create a reboot of the sitcom starring grown-up kids of the characters?
Regardless, it's been almost 15 years since "Friends" went off the air and there's no hint there will be a reunion or reboot anytime soon. For now, the claim Aniston is turning down the reboot of the show is only a false story.
