The claims emerged following the wedding of Peter Phillips and NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in Gloucestershire, where senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate, gathered for what appeared publicly to be a routine family celebration. Behind the scenes, however, insiders cited in media reports describe a dispute that extended far beyond wedding jewelry.
According to those reports, the disagreement centered on whether Harriet Sperling should have been permitted to borrow a tiara from the royal collection for her wedding day. While the issue may appear ceremonial, access to royal heirlooms has long been governed by tradition, protocol and internal family authority.
Sources quoted in the original report claimed Prince William believed Peter Phillips and his bride should have been given the option of selecting a piece from the royal collection. Queen Camilla allegedly opposed the idea, arguing that established protocol should be maintained.
