Meghan Markle is reportedly pressing Prince Harry to find practical solutions to his strained family relationships after their return to Britain failed to produce the welcome he expected, according to an unnamed source cited by the National Examiner.
The report, dated November 3, claims Harry had assured Meghan that King Charles III would be pleased to have the couple back. Instead, the source described the duke as disappointed by limited family contact and the duchess as increasingly frustrated with how their plans have unfolded.
"She's trying to be sympathetic," the source said. "Harry's totally gutted by the way they've been welcomed, or rather have not been welcomed, but it's only natural that she'd be frustrated considering he assured her that King Charles III was going to be thrilled to have them back."
Neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly confirmed that account. The claims about their expectations, private conversations and reactions rest on anonymous reporting.
Charles hosted Harry, Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, at Highgrove House on July 10, with Queen Camilla also present. Buckingham Palace described the gathering as a private family occasion. It was the King's first in-person meeting with his grandchildren since 2022.
No further gathering involving Charles and the Sussexes has been publicly confirmed since the family returned to Britain on August 26. That absence of confirmation does not establish whether private contact has occurred or explain why another meeting has not been announced.
The National Examiner source claimed Harry blames Prince William for the lack of progress and that Meghan shares his suspicions. The report offered no independent evidence that William had obstructed contact.
"From Meghan's perspective, this was his plan and this is his turf," the source said. "Harry has to be the one to make it work."
A separate unnamed source quoted by Closer attributed Harry's concerns to Camilla, claiming he suspects she has influenced Charles's decisions about further visits. Neither account establishes that the Queen or Prince of Wales intervened to prevent a reunion.
Beyond the royal dispute, the National Examiner report alleged that financial concerns and stress were placing pressure on the Sussexes' marriage. Its source suggested Meghan wanted more time devoted to their relationship, including date nights, rather than repeated discussions of family grievances.
No financial details or public statements from the couple were provided to substantiate those claims.
The reporting also described differing preferences for Christmas. Harry was said to favour staying in Britain, potentially allowing a reunion with Charles at Sandringham, while Meghan reportedly preferred visiting her mother, Doria Ragland, in California.
An unnamed source claimed Meghan did not want to organise the holidays around an uncertain royal invitation. Neither the Sussexes' Christmas arrangements nor an invitation to Sandringham has been publicly confirmed in the accounts.
