K-drama fans have a new television series to look forward to. The new spy thriller series "Vagabond," starring Lee Seung Gi and Bae Suzy, will hit the small screen sometime in May 2019.

On Wednesday, Dec. 26, a source from SBS (via Asian Wiki) revealed that "Vagabond" will air on the said TV network as the new Wednesday-Thursday drama in May 2019. The exact premiere date, however, has yet to be determined.

As per the source, filming for the said spy thriller TV series is currently ongoing. The completion, which was initially scheduled to finish before the year ends, is now pushed back to sometime in late January or February 2019.

To compensate for the long wait, "Vagabond" dropped the first still images of Lee Seung Gi as Cha Dal Gun. The character is an ambitious stuntman who suddenly becomes involved in a colossal conspiracy case after a plane crash.

While digging up information on the said huge conspiracy, Cha Dal Gun comes across Go Hae Ri (Bae Suzy), a National Intelligence Service agent. She chose the life of a civil servant to support her family but ends up becoming a covert. She is an underling of Ki Tae Woong (Shin Sung Rok), head of the National Intelligence Agency's information team.

Also starring in the upcoming TV series are Moon Jeong Hee as Jessica Lee, Hwang Bo Ra as Gong Hwa Sook, and Kim Jung Hyun as Hong Seung Beom. Actors Kim Min Jong, Kang Kyung Hun, Jung Min Sik, Baek Yoon Sik, Lee Geung Young, Moon Seung Keun, and Jang Hyuk Jin have also been cast in undisclosed supporting roles.

"Vagabond" will benefit from the creativity of director Yu In Sik, whose previous works include the hit 2016 medical drama "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim," 2014's "You're All Surrounded" and 2013's "Incarnation of Money." The script is penned by "Empress Ki" screenwriters Jang Young Cheol and Jung Kyung Soon.

"With the actors, director, scriptwriters, and producers working hand-in-hand, we will make high quality, 'classic' drama that hasn't been seen in recent years," a source from Celltrion Entertainment, the production company behind the upcoming TV series, said in a previous interview by Soompi.

The source added: "We will touch people's hearts with detailed acting, directing, and writing that doesn't leave out anything, from espionage and action to unexpected twists and thrilling moments, to melodrama and humor."

"Vagabond" will also be broadcasted worldwide on Sony One and AXN.
