The year 2018 ended with a bang for South Korean actor So Ji Sub as he was the big winner at the recent MBC Drama Awards held at the MBC Media Center in Sangam-Dong, Seoul on Sunday, Dec. 30.

The 41-year-old actor took home two major awards - the Top Excellence Award for an Actor in a Wednesday-Thursday Drama and the Daesang (Grand Prize) Award - for his portrayal of Kim Bon (also known as Terius) in the action-packed comedy series, "Terius Behind Me."

"I was truly happy and grateful while filming 'Terius [Behind Me],' and I learned a lot," So Ji Sub said while accepting the Daesang (Grand Prize) Award at this year's MBC Drama Awards, as quoted by Soompi. "I sincerely respect and admire all of my senior and junior actors, and I am always thankful to the staff who is constantly working hard outdoors, both day and night."

So Ji Sub also took the opportunity to thank the drama's director Park Sang-Hun for guiding him throughout the filming. He, then, expressed his sincere gratitude to his fans across the globe for their unwavering love and support.

In addition to that, "Terius Behind Me" was also named Drama of the Year, while actress Jung In Sun bagged the Excellence Award for an Actress in a Wednesday-Thursday Drama for her portrayal of a single mother, Go Ae Rin, who finds herself getting caught up in solving a huge conspiracy with Kim Bon.

Kang Ki Young, who stars as Kim Sang Ryeol, won the Best Supporting Actor Award, while Kim Gun Woo and Ok Ye Rin respectively took home the Best Child Actor and Best Child Actress Award. The show's screenwriter Oh Ji Young has also been awarded the Writer of the Year award.

Aside from "Terius Behind Me," the stars of romance melodrama "Goodbye to Goodbye" were also recognized for their hard work. In particular, Jo Bo Ah took home the Excellence Award for an Actress in a Weekend Drama, while U-KISS member Jun (whose real name is Lee Jun Young), won the Best New Actor Award, according to Newsen.

Actress Chae Si Ra and Jung Hye Young have also bagged the Top Excellence Award for an Actress in a Weekend Drama and Best Supporting Actress in a Weekend Drama, respectively. Lastly, Shin Bi, who plays the role of Han Yoo Yeon, has been awarded the Best Child Actress award.
