Fans of Korean dramas are in for a treat as there are a lot of new shows to look forward to in 2019. From "The Chronicles of Aseudal" to "Vagabond," here are a few upcoming dramas that fans should not miss (via Soompi).

1. "Dear Citizens"

One of this year's most awaited drama is KBS 2TV's "Dear Citizens / My Fellow Citizens (tentative title)." It stars Super Junior's Choi Si Won as a skilled con man, Yang Jung Kook, who ends up running to become a member of the National Assembly.

Also starring are Lee Yoo Young ("Tunnel" and "Your Honor") as police detective, Kim Mi Young; Kim Min Jung ("Mr. Sunshine" and "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015") as a notorious loan shark, Park Hoo Ja; Tae In Ho ("Descendants of the Sun") as a political newcomer, Han Sang Jin; and Kim Eui Sung ("W - Two Worlds") as a veteran politician, Kim Joo Myung.

"Dear Citizens" is set to premiere sometime in March on KBS 2TV.

2. "Vagabond"

After portraying the monkey king in 2017-2018's "A Korean Odyssey," Lee Seung Gi will once again conquer the small screen with a new spy thriller series tentatively titled "Vagabond." It is about an uprising action star, Cha Dal Gun (Lee Seung Gi), who gets involved in a huge conspiracy after a plane crash.

Lee Seung Gi will be joined by Bae Suzy ("While You Were Sleeping") and Shin Sung Rok ("The Last Empress") as Go Hae Ri and Ki Tae Woong, respectively. Jang Hyuk Jin, Lee Geung Young, Kang Kyung Hun, Baek Yoon Sik, Jung Min Sik, Moon Jeong Hee, Kim Jung Hyun, and Hwang Bo Ra have also been cast in supporting roles.

"Vagabond" will air sometime in May on SBS.

3. "The Chronicles of Aseudal"

Lastly, "The Chronicles of Aseudal" will see the much-awaited return of Song Joong Ki, who gained widespread fame after playing Captain Yoo Si Jin (also known as Big Boss) in 2016's "Descendants of the Sun," to the small screen.

In the upcoming show, the Hallyu star will play Eun Seom, a man who is born with fate bring disaster to Asadal City, the capital of Gojoseon. A few years later, he reappears and conquers the city, and then develop it into an empire.

"The Chronicles of Aseudal," which also stars Kim Ji Won, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin, is set to premiere sometime in May on cable network tvN.
