Sixteen years after their hit television series "Snow Flakes," Kim Rae Won and Gong Hyo Jin are set to reunite for a forthcoming romantic comedy film tentatively titled "The Most Ordinary Romance."
Kim Rae Won and Gong Hyo Jin's reunion project was announced early this week, together with actors Kang Ki Young ("Terius behind Me"), Jung Woong In ("Ms. Ma, Nemesis") and Jang So Yeon ("Something in the Rain").
In "The Most Ordinary Romance," Kim Rae Won plays a man in his early 30s, Jae Hoon, who is having a hard time moving on from his last relationship. He drinks beer frequently to forget the pain.
As for Gong Hyo Jin, she will play a career woman, Sun Young. Her life suddenly turns upside down after her former boyfriend crashes her welcome party on her first day with a new office job.
To make things more exciting, Kang Ki Young has been tapped to play Jae Hoon's co-worker and close friend named Byung Cheol, while Jung Woo In will play their direct superior, Gwan Soo. Lastly, Jang So Yeon will play Mi Young, an ordinary woman who is familiar with what is going on at the company.
"We will come to viewers with a refreshing and realistic romance story that anyone who has been hurt by love can relate to," director Kim Han Gyeol, who will be making his commercial film debut through "The Most Ordinary Romance," said in a statement obtained by Soompi.
There is no word yet on the film's release date, neither the storyline remains under wraps. While waiting, fans can check out Kim Rae Won in the fantasy romance TV series "Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me."
In the said 20-episode TV series, the 37-year-old actor plays a successful businessman, Moon Soo Ho / Lee Myung So, whose good luck always seems to be on his side. Hence, those that oppose him always seem to suffer misfortune.
As for Gong Hyo Jin, she last appeared in the recently released thriller drama film, "Door Lock," along with Kim Ye Won, Kim Sung Oh, Jo Bok Rae, Lee Ga Sub and Lee Chun Hee. It follows an ordinary woman, Cho Kyung Min (Gong Hyo Jin), who lives alone in a one-room apartment. Her quiet life becomes noisy after she finds a trace of a stranger breaking into her room and soon, a mysterious murder case begins to unravel.
