Mark Harmon is not planning to quit NCIS after 16 seasons, despite the claim of a recent report. This story has been debunked; the actor has no plans to leave the popular American television series.

Harmon plays the role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs since the NCIS premiered back in 2003 premiere and he also serves as the executive producer of the series. Now, Globe magazine claims he is ready to quit the hit naval drama due to his alleged feuds with cast and crew members

A so-called source of the outlet said the 67-year-old actor was "fed up" with NCIS, and he reportedly believes he won't be missed since he has a reputation as the "meanest man" in the TV. The alleged source contends Harmon was hated by the rest of the cast as he gotten people fired and he holds grudges.

Also, the actor was allegedly a dictator on set, causing conflicts among his co-workers. However, the outlet didn't provide any details about the alleged conflicts of Harmon with his co-workers that caused him to quit NCIS.

Although it was reported last year one of the reasons why cast member Pauley Perrette left the long-running series is because of her feud with Harmon, she had been in the series for 15 seasons. But now, there's no concrete evidence the actor has on-going feuds with cast and crew members.

Still, the tabloid attempted to support its report by claiming Harmon is developing new crime drama project at CBS, which is based on John Sandford's best-selling "Prey" novels. The source said this is also the reason why the actor will quit NCIS, but then, it failed to mention that Harmon will only serve as an executive producer on the new show. The project would not interfere with the actor's commitment to the naval drama.

As per Gossip Cop, the entire claim comes from a nonexistent source, and Harmon's spokesperson confirmed the actor has no plans to quit NCIS. The rep said rumors of his departure on the series are completely false and made-up. Page Six recently reported Harmon will remain on NCIS and his rep dismissed rumors he's leaving the series due to alleged health problems.

Meanwhile, other outlets are also making similar stories about celebrities planning to quit long-running shows. For example, the sister outlet of Globe, National Enquirer, previously reported Mariska Hargitay has plans to leave "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" because she wanted to pursue a movie career. But, the actress will stay on the NBC crime drama, and she will direct an upcoming episode of the show.
