It looks like fans will have to wait even longer for Kim Woo Bin's return. It has been confirmed that the 29-year-old model and actor is still on indefinite hiatus, despite a report claiming otherwise.

On Wednesday, Jan. 9, fans were abuzz with excitement after hearing that Kim Woo Bin will return to acting for the first time since he was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. He is said to be in talks for a forthcoming historical crime film with producing director Choi Dong Hoon, who is known for helming the hit 2015 film "Assassination" and 2012's "The Thieves."

Unfortunately, his agency SidusHQ immediately shut down the comeback reports. While Kim Woo Bin is now doing well after completing his treatment plan for nasopharyngeal cancer, he has no plans for a return yet.

"[Kim Woo Bin] His condition has improved a lot, but he has no plans for a return yet," SidusHQ said in a press statement obtained by Soompi. "As his recovery is the priority, he is still focusing on recovering his health."

It was in May 2017 when Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. At the time, his agency SidusHQ announced an indefinite work hiatus as the Hallyu star had started drug and radiation treatment. He was also exempted from the two-year mandatory military service.

Kim Woo Bin gained widespread fame at home and across Asia after playing Choi Young Do in the hit 2013 romance teen drama "The Heirs / The Inheritors." Since then, he appeared in various big screen projects such as "Friend: The Great Legacy," "The Con Artists," "Twenty" and "Master."

He last appeared in the 2016 romance melodrama "Uncontrollably Fond" as Shin Joon Young, a top actor, and singer. His life suddenly turns upside down after he finds out he had an incurable disease and had only one year to live.

Due to its refreshing storyline, "Uncontrollably Fond" was well-received across Asia. The 20-episode drama series was streamed on China's Youku simultaneously with South Korea's broadcast. It has also reached more than 4 billion cumulative views, making it the site's most viewed Korean drama of all time.

"Uncontrollably Fond" also stars Bae Suzy as Noh Eul, Lim Ju Hwan as Choi Ji Tae, Lim Ju Eun as Yoon Jeong Eun, Jin Kyung as Shin Young Ok, Choi Moo Sung as Jang Jung Sik, Park Soo Young as CEO Namgoong, Jung Soo Kyo as Jang Kook Young and Jang Hee Ryung as Jang Man Ok.
