The FBI's investigations on Oct. 1, 2017's Las Vegas shooting has ended but unfortunately, the three-page summary report revealed that the intelligence and security service unit did not find any motive on why Stephen Paddock open fire and killed 58 people and injuring hundreds who were attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival that was held at the Las Vegas Village which is not far from Mandalay Bay Hotel.

The investigation concluded after more than a year of joint evidence and information gathering of the FBI and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department in an effort to find Paddock's intention for the massacre. Behavioral specialists were also called in to help in the inquiry but even with their expertise, the gunman's motive remained a mystery.

According to CNN, the detectives determined that the Paddock's aggression was not triggered by resentment against any hotel or casino in Las Vegas. It is also not likely that he has something against the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival or anybody killed or injured in the bloodshed.

Moreover, Aaron Rouse, the head of FBI's Las Vegas office, said that it was more likely about doing the maximum amount of damage and for him (Paddock) to gain a really bad reputation and be condemned by the public. It is possible that his desire for infamy was a result of his declining mental and physical health as determined by analysts.

"Throughout his life, Paddock went to great lengths to keep his thoughts private, and that extended to his final thinking about this mass murder," part of the report reads. "Active shooters rarely have a singular motive or reason for engaging in a mass homicide."

On Oct. 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock fired over 1,000 bullets via his suite located on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. He aimed his powerful guns at the large crowd who were gathered to enjoy country music during the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

It was estimated that around 22,000 people were at the open-ground concert at the Las Vegas Strip and they scuffled when the shooting began at exactly 10:05 p.m. As per the reports, the rampage lasted about 11 minutes and the aftermath left people dead, wounded, frightened and crying hysterically.

The FBI stated that the 64-year-old perpetrator singlehandedly ambushed the unsuspecting concert-goers. Paddock was not arrested because he shot himself after the carnage.

Finally, in reaction to the FBI's "no motive" findings for the Las Vegas mass shooting, country singer Jordan Mitchell, who was one of the performers when the attack took place, said that even if the investigators did not find any motive, it does not mean that Paddock did not have one. He added that people may never know why but that will not change anything or make things easier on the victims, the Tennessean reported.
