Yang Hyun Suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, talked about the upcoming activities of BLACKPINK, including their comebacks, solo releases, as well as U.S. promotions.

On February 8, Yang Hyun Suk answered questions about BLACKPINK's via the agency's blog YG Life, Soompi reported. As for the question of when will the girl group be releasing a new song, he answered they're planning to have BLACKPINK release a new song in mid or late March, and it will be an EP album consisting of many new songs.

Yang Hyun Suk continued to say that he's fully aware and understand the desire of fans for BLACKPINK to release new songs more often, as well as a full-length studio album. While it's important they should release new songs often, Yang Hyun Suk believed the girl group is at a very important time where they should release very high-quality songs and music videos. The new songs this coming March will be BLACKPINK's their first EP album in nine months since DDU-DU DDU-DU.

Then, Yang Hyun Suk talked about plans for member Rosé and her solo release. He said they've already finished choosing a song that best fits for her vocals and the new song will likely be released after the EP album of the girl group. As for Lisa and Jisoo, Yang Hyun Suk said both of them are also working hard to prepare for solo tracks. Their ultimate goal this 2019 is for BLACKPINK to have two comebacks, as well as solo tracks for the remaining three members - in the order of Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo.

Lastly, he talked about plans for BLACKPINK to branch out into the United States. Yang Hyun Suk shared his analysis, saying he believes European and American markets are like a blue ocean for the girl group. Based on data analysis, he said the U.S. is the biggest revenue source showed in YouTube statistics for BLACKPINK's latest release DDU-DU DDU-DU. Also, the U.S. comes in fifth place in terms of view counts.

Brazil and Mexico are seventh and ninth respectively, while Germany, the U.K., Russia, and France are all in the top 20 list of countries. Yang Hyun Suk believes they will see rises in these countries if BLACKPINK continues their overseas promotions. He also added that he recently met with Interscope Records Chairman, John Janick, and Universal Music Group Chairman, Lucian Grainge, and he was able to reaffirm their deep affection for BLACKPINK, as well as their dedication towards ensuring successful promotions for the girl group.
