Many fans are, now, thrilled for the up-and-coming release of Altered Carbon Season 2. Netflix, previously, confirmed that the popular American dystopian science fiction cyberpunk web television series would return for another run. Though there have been very limited details about the second installment's plot, the world's leading internet entertainment service company named the new cast to appear in Season 2.

EconoTimes shared that the forthcoming Altered Carbon Season 2 would feature some familiar faces that appeared in other bankable productions. The reputable news website reported that Anthony Mackie would appear in the next installment. The 40-year-old American actor would play the role of Takeshi Kovacs, who was played by Joel Kinnaman in Season 1. Mackie is best known for playing the part of Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon in the Captain America: Civil War and Avengers films.

Aside from Mackie, Luke Cage star Simone Missick is also set to join as Trepp in Altered Carbon Season 2. Missick, previously, played the role of Misty Knight in Iron Fist and The Defenders. Other new personalities to expect in the imminent new installment include Torben Liebrecht of Operation Finale, James Saito of The Terror, and Dina Shihabi of Daredevil.

Besides Kinnaman, main series cast Renee Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner are set to reprise their roles as Quellcrist Falconer and Poe, respectively, in Altered Carbon Season 2. It remains to be seen if Martha Higareda, Dichen Lachman, James Purefoy, Kristin Lehman, Will Yun Lee, Ato Essandoh, Trieu Tran, Byron Mann, Marlene Forte, and Leonardo Nam would also be making a comeback in the second installment.

As for its storyline, it is claimed that Altered Carbon Season 2 would be set more than 300 years to the future. Speculations suggest that, at this point, preserving consciousness and memories are very much possible through a technology named cortical stack. This advanced device could be entrenched to another body if the memories owner passes away.

There are also reports saying that Altered Carbon Season 2 would feature Takeshi Kovacs looking for the preserved consciousness of Quellcrist. Will he be able to find it? That's something we should watch out for in the next season. It can be recalled that he was able to find answers and recalled some buried memories through the help of Reileen in the series' first installment.

Meanwhile, the entire cast and crew of the series have already started filming Altered Carbon Season 2 in early February. The production for the up-and-coming second installment is expected to end sometime in June 2019. Reports have it that Season 2 would only have a total of eight episodes, which is two less than the first installment.

Netflix is expected to air the next season in late 2019 or early 2020. Stay tuned in Business Times China for the latest Altered Carbon Season 2 spoilers, news, and updates.
