Fans have been patiently waiting for the official details of High School Musical 4. However, Disney has kept mum about it for a very long time, causing fans to create their predictions and theories on what are likely to transpire in the upcoming fourth installment. Now, with the announcement of the new cast, it seems like HSM 4 is likely to happen very soon.

EconoTimes revealed that Disney had chosen a new lineup to star in an all-new television version of the popular American musical-drama franchise. Among the characters of the High School Musical TV series include Carlos (Frankie Rodriguez), EJ (Matt Cornett), Ricky (Joshua Bassett), Nini (Olivia Rodrigo), Gina (Sofia Wylie), Ashlyn (Larry Saperstein), Kourtney (Dana Renee), Mr. Mazzara (Mark St Cyr) and Miss Jenn (Kate Reinders). It remains to be seen if the same people would star in imminent High School Musical 4 movie.

No other details about the upcoming film's plotline have been revealed as of yet. However, speculations suggest High School Musical 4 would pick up 15 years after the former man casts graduated from high school, namely: Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), Taylor Mckessie (Monique Coleman), Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), and Gabriela Montes (Vanessa Hudgens).

Speaking to Digital Spy, Disney President and CCO Garry Marsh revealed that they met a myriad of quandaries as they try to arrange everything for the High School Musical 4 movie. "The challenge we handed the creative team was Herculean. How do you recapture the joy and the magic of the original 'High School Musical' movie... and simultaneously reimagine it completely?" he told the entertainment news outlet. "That's like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. And Tim and Oliver - and this amazingly talented and diverse cast and crew - have done exactly that!" Marsh added.

Speculations are rife that Disney, also, had a hard time looking for the best people to star in High School Musical 4, especially after its former lead stars refused to make a comeback in the famous musical franchise. As a matter of fact, in June 2016, Ashley Tisdale said she would no longer appear in another HSM installment. "Looking back, it was such a perfect thing for its time and was so pure that I just don't know how you go from there," the 33 -year-old actress said.

In March 2017, Vanessa Hudgens addressed the rumors about her coming back in High School Musical 4 movie. The former girlfriend of Zac Efron said that, at her age, she could be a teacher in the film, but she does not want to be a teacher because she is still a "teenager at heart."

The forthcoming HSM 4 movie is predicted to premiere some time this year. Stay tuned to Business Times China for the latest High School Musical 4 spoilers, news, and updates.
