The Australian shooter that murdered 50 Muslims and wounded 50 others in a horrific gun attack in Christchurch, New Zealand visited Hungary and Israel -- countries infamous for their state-tolerated violence against immigrants -- before the massacre of March 15.
Authorities in both countries confirmed the shooter had indeed visited their countries, but could not give a reason why or identify any persons he may have met with. Hungary's Counter Terrorism Center or TEK said the Australian arrived as a tourist and entered Hungary on a train running between Timisoara, Romania, and Budapest, Hungary. He would have been allowed to stay in Hungary for up to 90 days without a visa
In a statement, TEK said the Australian entered Hungary on November 26, 2018 at the border railway crossing in Lokoshaza, some 250 km southeast of Budapest. TEK said the Australian was travelling by himself when he entered Hungary. TEK is still investigating what the Australian did and where he went while he was in Hungary.
They affirmed this man does not appear on any of their terrorist databases. This man also hasn't been flagged by authorities elsewhere in the world.
Prior to his visit to Hungary, the Australian visited Israel in late 2016, according to Israeli officials.
The Australian entered Israel in October 2016 on a three-month tourist visa. Records of the Population and Immigration Authority show this man stayed for nine days. An official of the agency said there are no further details available on what the Australian did during his stay in Israel.
The Australian's trip to both countries suggest he was motivated to visit what in his mind were "friendly" countries whose governments apparently shared his views on race and racial intolerance.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is a known white nationalist and racist infamous for his intolerance of immigrants, especially Muslims. Orban has been in power since 2010 and the Australian racist visited Hungary in 2018.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's current Prime Minister, was also Prime Minister when the Australian visited Israel in 2016. Netanyahu is notorious for his relentless oppression of Palestinian Muslims, and has been called a war criminal by his critics for the murders and oppression of Palestinian civilians.
The revelation of the Australian racist's visits to Hungary and Israel came on the same day (Thursday) New Zealand banned the sale of assault rifles and semi-automatic weapons with almost immediate effect.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the ban, which comes only six days after the massacre of Muslims in Christchurch.
"Every semi-automatic weapon used in the terrorist attack on Friday will be banned in this country," said Ardern.
Ardern said high-capacity magazines and devices similar to bump stocks, which can make rifles fire faster, will also be outlawed.
