Could there be any problems with between Kim Burgess (played by Marina Squerciati) and her new guy Blair (Charles Michael Davis)? This cute couple's relationship is still fresh but the writers of Chicago PD season 6 might have some ideas about introducing friction.
This was hinted in an exclusive preview of Chicago PD season 6 episode 17, as shared on TV Line. Burgess was offering her guy, Blair, some breakfast when his phone rung so he had to rush off to work.
Burgess, however, asks Blair why a black man like himself is working very hard to help a white cop become mayor. Blair assures his girlfriend that he's mainly in it for the money because, obviously, being a political consultant pays well in the world of Chicago PD season 6.
Blair also asks Burgess if he'd like to become part of this political campaign to let Kelton (played by John C. McGinley) win. Knowing Kelton, however, Burgess declines her boyfriend's offer.
According to TV Line, this could hint a potential problem in the budding relationship of this couple in Chicago PD season 6. Will their professional careers eventually get in the way of their romance?
Meanwhile, another teaser for Chicago PD season 6 episode 17 shows the mayoral candidate who will likely be the target of a sniper shooter. This is the focus of the story in the episode airing Wednesday, March 27, on NBC.
All signs point to Ray Price (played by Wendell Pierce) as the target. In the teaser, the shooter attacks Price even if he's surrounded by security and cops, including Voight (played by Jason Beghe). Though Voight has had many differences with Price in Chicago PD season 6, he rushes to his aid after the shooting and makes sure that the man is okay. Meanwhile, the cops get on the case and chase after the culprit.
But who could be behind this assassination attempt? It's no secret that Price has many enemies in politics and someone seems determined to get him out of the race. There could be many possibilities including Price hiring someone to shoot him so that this news could shoot him up the polls.
Price, however, will survive this attempt on his life as he's still in Chicago PD season 6 episode 18, which airs the following Wednesday. The series will have at least five more episodes to air until April, when the season closes, but it will be back for season 7 in the fall.
