The first teaser to The 100 season 6 has finally arrived! While it looks like the new world brings hope, things aren't what they appear to be since a dangerous outbreak may have befallen Clarke and her group.
The extended teaser to The 100 season 6 opens with the group expressing a lot of hope now that they have arrived in this new and beautiful planet called the Sanctum. But things quickly escalate to trouble as they come across Russell (played by J.R. Bourne), the leader of this new world.
Russell isn't quite welcoming of Clarke (played by Eliza Taylor) and her group of first explorers in The 100 season 6. He's seen in the teaser telling his people that these are dangerous newcomers who will likely destroy their world in the same way that they destroyed Earth.
But he's likely not the group's biggest problem because not long after they've settled in this new planet, an outbreak happens and some of Clarke's friends start behaving violently. Suffice to say, there is a dark power hovering in this planet that the newcomers might not be prepared to live with on The 100season 6.
Meanwhile, showrunner Jason Rotherberg also released a new key art for The 100 season 6 that teases Clarke's mirror images. The poster also has the words "Face Your Demons," which has drawn a lot of fan speculations.
Could this new world be a duplicate of the Earth? Is the presence of this world's two suns affecting their psychosis? Would the characters be forced to face the mistakes they have done in the past in order to correct it and move on?
For instance, it looks like Clarke's group of first explorers may be done and over with her bad decisions and apologies. As seen in the teaser, someone lays it out on her that she's always saying sorry for everything but things haven't really changed for them.
Rothenberg did hint to TV Guide that the characters of The 100 season 6 will need to forgive each other. Hence, this new season is also about rebuilding relationships and trust.
"We'll put them through that wringer and we'll get them there eventually," Rothenberg said. "But it's going to take a while. That's not something that you get over too quickly."
The CW has confirmed that The 100 season 6 will premiere on Tuesday, April 30, at 8:00 p.m. As with the previous seasons, there will be 13 episodes to this new installment.
