Is Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 on Netflix? Fans of the cop comedy series have been eager to follow the show on a streaming platform, but it is still running on television via NBC for the rest of the 2018-2019 season.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6, however, is not available for Netflix U.S. subscribers, as per Metro. Instead, those who want to watch online every week can find fresh episodes on Hulu, Netflix's competition, the day after it airs on NBC.
Those who would like to binge-watch the series, however, will need to wait until Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 has completed its run on NBC. The current season has 18 episodes, and it is projected to close by the end of May.
Once Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 has its season finale, then it will be ready for streaming in Netflix platforms outside of the U.S. Hulu still has sole rights to the show for online streaming in America.
Some Netflix territories, however, may have the sixth season up and accessible a few weeks after the finale. Yet sometimes, the wait may take six months or more.
The reason for this gap in its availability on Netflix is because the show is also running in different networks outside of America, such as City in Canada, E4 in the U.K., RTE Two in Ireland, TV2 in New Zealand, SBS Viceland in Australia. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has to finish its run in these networks first before the latest season becomes available in their respective Netflix territories.
So, for instance, Netflix U.K. will not have Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 until 2020 since the show just had its premiere on E4 last March 28 and it runs on U.K. television for the next four or five months. Netflix U.K., on the other hand, just debuted Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5 last March 8 to add to season 1 to 4 so subscribers will have to wait until next year for the sixth season.
This arrangement applies to all of Netflix's territories outside of the U.S. To summarize, if a TV network outside of America is still running the latest season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, it won't be available in that region's Netflix until a few months or so after the finale.
Waiting for the new season to be available is definitely better than nothing. Brooklyn Nine-Nine would've been completely gone on television after FOX canceled the series last May 2018.
Thankfully, NBC decided to take the show in and granted its season 6 renewal. The good news is NBC also renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine for season 7. It will be coming back for the 2019-2020 season.
