Game company Atlus, maker of the highly acclaimed artistic RPG "Persona 5," made a new announcement related to the game. Read on for more details.

Last month, Atlus revealed a new version of the game, "Persona 5R" or more specifically, "Persona 5 The Royal." GameSpot reported that the new title appears to be a different version of Persona 5, one that features a female character.

The Persona 5 The Royal reveal trailer simply showed a mask belonging to Persona 5 protagonist Joker, along with the iconic tagline, "Take your heart." This appears in two electronic billboards atop two adjacent buildings, and in a third billboard placed low in another building, in Tokyo. From a distance, a girl in school uniform looks at it.

The girl, according to GameSpot, is a student at Shujin Academy, the school where most of Persona 5's main cast go to.

Atlus doesn't reveal much about the game at this point and ends the trailer by revealing the game's title, along with a promise to reveal more details come April 24 during the Persona Super Live 2019 concert.

Atlus could very well intend to release Persona 5 The Royal as a "Game of The Year" edition type of release, featuring added palaces and other content which will make replaying the game enjoyable. Venture Beat says Atlus has done this in the past, adding new characters and cutscenes to the game.

What's more, the female character shown in the trailer could be Joker's female version. Atlus did this before with Persona 3 Portable, which featured a female version of Persona 3's main protagonist.

Atlus didn't say anything more about Persona 5 The Royal. The game company, however, teased another teaser: they set up a new website with an interesting URL that goes https://p5s.jp/.

The URL opens up a website that shows nothing but the descriptions "1more," "Information," "4.25" and "Thu." This simply means that after the Persona Super Live 2019 concert on April 24, they will reveal more important and exciting information on April 25, which will be a Thursday.

With Atlus not giving a clue as to what they will be talking about come April 25, fans and players alike have started speculating a variety of things.

First, some speculate that they might announce something that's not related to Persona 5 The Royal. Atlus, after all, has already announced it earlier and promised to reveal more on the 24th.

Second, many are speculating that P5S refers to Persona 5 coming to the Nintendo Switch.

So far, Atlus hasn't confirmed anything save for the dates they announced. Fans are simply advised to wait for exciting news to be officially revealed.
