Commander Kelly Greyson (played by Adrianne Palicki) has a huge task to tackle in The Orville season 2 finale. Scheduled to air on Thursday, April 25, at 9:00 p.m. on FOX, Kelly will have to face the consequences of a crisis she created in the previous episode.

The Orville season 2 episode 13 finale will follow up on the events in episode 12, which will air on April 18, where Kelly and Captain Ed Mercer (played by Seth MacFarlane) are smack in the middle of this time-distorted world. Presumably, this means that Kelly and Ed are still married in this timeline but since this is not the real state of their relationship, then something might have changed in the correct timeline.

But whatever is still about to happen in The Orville season 2 episode 12 would have an impact on the rest of the crew. It will all boil down to Kelly's decision. It might be fair to say that the time distortion isn't just about the former couple's relationship but the state of The Orville as a whole.

As revealed in The Orville season 1, Kelly was not happy with her marriage to Ed, who was a workaholic. Her husband also wouldn't open up to her if he had any issues, thus causing a rift in their relationship and leading Kelly to cheat on Ed.

Despite their complicated relationship, however, Kelly and Ed decided to work together in The Orville. The proximity brought forth new feelings that the couple decided to give their relationship another try.

However, with the issues and problems in their marriage staying the same, Kelly and Ed decided to break up for good. This time, however, it seemed easier to move on from this romantic relationship than the first time they broke up.

Meanwhile, FOX has not yet confirmed the state of the show after The Orville season 2 episode 13 finale. There's still no word on The Orville season 3, but the show did receive a tax incentive from the government of California for its future seasons, as per Deadline.

However, The Orville season 2's rating has been down by 24 to 38 percent compared to the first season. Will FOX still have enough support for the show despite this slipping number?

The Orville also stars Penny Johnson Jerald as Dr. Claire Finn, Peter Macon as Bortus, Scott Grimes as Gordon Malloy, J. Lee as John Lamarr and Mark Jackson as Isaac. MacFarlane is the show's creator and executive producer.
