'Apex Legends' players are shocked to see leaked skins belonging to a long-rumored and much-desired weapon that still has to make its appearance in the game. Read on for more details.
Apex Legends players have been waiting for the L-Star weapon to make its way to the game. IGN notes that the L-Star, a powerful rapid-fire energy gun that turns targets into nothing, has stayed in the rumor mill for a long time. Now, it seems that the gun won't be just a rumor anymore.
Leaked skins
According to a report from Dexerto, some Apex Legends players have been awarded Twitch Prime packs in light of the recent account reset issues that plagued the game. The packs included Rare and Legendary skins that belonged to the L-Star gun.
A tweet coming from a certain leaker named RealApexLeaks showed some of the gun's skins. These reveal the still unreleased firearm in all its glory.
One of the skins, dubbed "Alien Invasion," paints the L-Star gun in purple and bronze colors, with a few details in green. This colorway makes the gun look "alien" in every sci-fi sense of the word.
Another skin, called "Apex Hyperdrive," looks striking. The L-Star is splashed with red and silvery-white colors, with a few details in black.

A redditor who goes by the name Electroshreddie also shared a photo of another leaked L-Star skin. The skin, dubbed "Outback," looks like what it is named after a combination of brown and green colors, obviously designed to appear as a camo meant for grasslands and the outback.
Slow and steady
Just like most of the weapons in Apex Legends, L-Star comes from another Respawn hit, "Titanfall 2." The L-Star is a powerful rifle, shooting red particle bolts towards targets. Unfortunate targets hit by these bolts will have red energy swirling around them for a few moments. Those who are killed explode.
GameRant notes that the L-Star had an endless supply of bullets since it uses energy. Players, however, needed to pace their shots well in order to prevent it from overheating. Players need to wait for the gun to cool down, or else it will overheat due to constant firing over extended periods of time.
What's more, the L-Star's bolts travel at notoriously slow speeds. Unless Respawn speeds them up, it's likely that the L-Star will be one of the most sluggish weapons in the game.
