Hwang Hana claims that she was forced to take drugs by her friend.
According to a report by SBS '8 news' on the 7th, Hwang said, "'A' forced me to take it (drugs) for sleeping. As for the allegations that I was supplying drugs that's not true."
Hwang Hana's legal counsel said, "In 2018 she started to use Philopon again at the orders of her celebrity friend. She said that she did not want to use it anymore, but "A" forced her to keep using it."
Hwang Hana is accused of illegally using two drugs Meth and Clozepam (a psychotropic drug) in 2015 and in April last year. The allegations first broke when her college friend Cho Moo that she took the drugs with was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in 2016 with 3 years probation. At the time, Hwang Hana's name was listed as drug distributor 8 times but she was not punished nor was she summoned by Police for investigation.
In the meantime, police have been investigating several media reports that the socialite was involved in drug use since last October. The police filed and submitted a warrant to Hwang Hana twice to no avail.
Finally, Hwang Hana who had been avoiding the law was arrested at the Seoul University Hospital in Bundang on April 4th. Police fear that she's a flight risk.
