The real battle will be on in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4. After the Night King and his huge army of the dead have fallen, the fight to get the throne is far from over.
In Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 trailer, the Winterfell has to face another battle. The preview gave a glimpse to an upcoming fight that would take place in King's Landing.
Cersei (Lena Headey) and Euron (Pilou Asbæk) are preparing their troops in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4, while Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is addressing what is left of their army. Fans can expect to see more scenes of the Queen of Westeros this time as the Battle of Winterfell is now over.
So aside from Cersei's triumphant return, Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 will also feature the start of the "last war." "We have won the great war. Now we will win the last war," Daenerys said in the trailer. "We'll rip her out root and stem."
With a lot of major characters died in the Battle of Winterfell, fans can expect to witness more deaths in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4. But at least the fight is fair, given that they will be battling the living. Although the House of Starks will definitely mourn the characters that met their demise, they will be ready to march south to meet the real enemy.
Elsewhere in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4, Gendry (Joe Dempsie) survives the painstaking Battle of Winterfell with a kissing scene with Arya (Maisie Williams). Rhaegal also outlives the war after an intense fight with Viserion as it is seen flying in the sky with Drogon. Euron is also seen bending the knee in front of Cersei, looking like he is proposing again.
Meanwhile, the Battle of Winterfell seemed to confirm a long-standing theory about Azor Ahai, and the theories suggested it could be Arya, per Elite Daily. As the Night King (Vladimir 'Furdo' Furdik) found Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) at the weirwood tree in the godswood, he tried to kill the Three-Eyed Raven to erase all of the Westeros' history.
Theon (Alfie Allen) tried his best to save Bran, but the Night King easily killed him off. As everyone thought no one would save Bran, Arya emerged from nowhere with a dagger in her hand. But as the Night King caught her up in the air, she swiftly dropped her weapon to her right hand and stabbed him with her dragonglass-dagger, shattering the enemy, his army, and even Viserion.
"For three years, we've known it was going to be Arya to deliver that fatal blow," creator David Benioff said, via Polygon. "We hope to avoid the expected."
There were earlier theories that Arya would be the one to kill the Night King, given her ability to wear different faces. So, does her move to kill the Night King makes the Faceless Man the legendary hero Azor Ahai? Find out more in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4, releasing on Sunday, May 5, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
