It seems like Brad Pitt has been single for a very long time. The A-list actor and Angelina Jolie split almost three years ago, and he hasn’t been confirmed to date anyone since.
Ever since Brangelina announced their separation, Brad Pitt's love life has been a struggle to keep up with. That's not due to any actual action on his part; it's wading through all of the rumors. As it turns out, the 55-year-old actor and film producer has his reasons why he stayed single.
“Brad has not really been dating much at all since his split with Angelina,” a source told Hollywood Life. “He does not have any romantic dates over to his home that he shared with Angelina and the kids, and he is a long way from falling in love again.”
The insider added that Brad Pitt “is friendly with plenty of women in and out of the film industry. However, he does enjoy plenty of platonic relationships with lots of people, including Lena Dunham, who is just a friend, nothing more.”
Instead of spending time on his love life, Brad Pitt has been putting all of his energy into parenting the six children he shares with Angelina Jolie, as well as his career.
"He is focused on two of the most important things he should be focused on, and those are his children and his work," an Entertainment Tonight source previously said, adding that Pitt is “in a great place personally and professionally. Being a father is his number one job, and he knows that. He will always be there for those children. He’s spending more time out and about socializing with his close friends, but he also is still a homebody and appreciates hanging around his place."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met while making their 2005 action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith and began publicly dating a few months after the movie premiered. In 2006, the couple announces the actress was pregnant.
In 2014 they married in a small ceremony at their chateau in the South of France. Just two years later, in September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The Maleficent actress asked for physical custody of the children.
Now, the Hollywood Life source noted that Brad Pitt is “enjoying life, focusing on being a good father, and working on his career instead of worrying about if he will ever fall in love again.” In short, being in a romantic relationship is not his priority at the moment.
