Agents of SHIELD has finally featured the much-awaited reunion between Leo Fitz (played by Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (played by Elizabeth Henstridge). However, before they can completely be together, FitzSimmons have to apparently fight their own demons.

The episode synopsis for Agents of SHIELD season 6 confirmed the reunion in "Inescapable, which will air on Friday, June 21, at 8:00 p.m. on ABC. It precludes, however, that there will be challenges and hitches along the way before FitzSimmons can fully embrace their new destiny.

Earlier in Agents of SHIELD season 6, Fitz and Simmons did briefly see each other at the casino. But before they could say or do anything, Fitz was whisked off by the hunter Malachi (played by Christopher James Baker).

Viewers will recall this bittersweet moment between the two lovers that made Fitz aware that Simmons has been looking for him. He originally thought he could freeze himself so that he could be reunited with her in the future.

Showrunner Jed Whedon did say via Hypable that a FitzSimmons reunion will not be quick. The obstacles are intended.

"You know, everybody's rooting for them but it's less fun to root for the team that's winning," Whedon said.

Fans of Agents of SHIELD season 6, however, need not worry that this agony will be pushing further because FitzSimmons will succeed through this hurdle. They will be on a case together in episode 7, titled "Toldja," which will air on June 28.

Meanwhile, Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 5 finally answered who really is Sarge, the man who looks just like Agent Phil Coulson (played by Clark Gregg). Sarge tells May (played by Ming-Na Wen) that Coulson is the actual impostor because he has been alive for more than 100 years. He also tells her of his mission to rid the universe of the shrikes to prevent a "Pachakitik" or the death of everything.

May pretended and played along with Sarge's pronouncements, taking care to strike at the right time. When she did, she knocked out Sarge and then drives off to return to the SHIELD. Did she actually kill him? Is she the reason for Coulson's death?

Agents of SHIELD season 6 airs Friday on ABC. The show also stars Chloe Bennet (as Daisy) Henry Simmons (as Mack), Natalia Cordova-Buckley (as Yo-Yo) and Jeff Ward (as Deke).
