Joshua J Cody (played by Finn Cole) has come to a realization in Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 4. If the was going to lead this family, he has to make some changes and set new plans so that what they do would succeed.

In a preview for Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 4, J raised the question of having outsiders working with the family. He thinks it's not helping their cause because it is really hard to trust people who aren't their blood.

J is, of course, referring to Frankie (played by Dichen Lachman), who planned a heist with the Cody family. Now, there are plenty of good reasons why J has to be suspicious of Frankie. For one thing, she was with Billy (played by Denis Leary) before she worked with the Cody family. She is also asking the guys to do an impossible task for this heist, which admittedly puts them off their comfort zone.

There are a lot of risks involved in the upcoming episode of Animal Kingdom season 4 and all of these were set up by Frankie. Will the payoff be worth it?  Knowing her association with Billy, it opens the Cody boys to the possibility that they could be arrested or killed in this planned heist.

And while J is worried that things will go wrong with this job with Frankie, another Cody brother will have to deal with his problems with Angela (played by Emily Deschanel.) According to the episode synopsis, Pope (played by Shawn Hatosy) will have a hard time resisting his dead sister's best friend. In the previous episode, which aired last Tuesday, June 11, she has nearly succeeded in getting close to Pope, that she began to ask more questions about Smurf (played by Ellen Barkin) and the family.

Meanwhile, the Cody boys will also have to deal with another important matter in the family. As revealed in Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3, their matriarch has skin cancer, which has already metastasized to her liver, bones and lymph nodes, per TV Line

Perhaps it would be right for J to think about the family's future because of this latest development in Smurf's condition. That is if the brothers don't send their mom to her death first.

Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 4 will air on Tuesday, June 18, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT.
