Many fans are, now, thrilled for the upcoming premiere of Better Call Saul Season 5. However, in April, it was revealed that avid followers of the popular American television crime drama spinoff prequel series of Breaking Bad have to wait a little longer for it would premiere in 2020.
AMC President of Entertainment Networks Sarah Barnett revealed that the official premiere date of Better Call Saul Season 5 had to be moved further since they need more pairs of hands to complete the forthcoming new installment. "We said on our most recent earnings call that the series would come back for season five next year," Sarah stated. "It's driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show," she added.
Series co-creator Peter Gould, previously, revealed that the end is near for the spinoff prequel series. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he is not aware if there would be another installment after Better Call Saul Season 5. Peter is, however, hopeful that the imminent new season would be enough to state the story that needs to be told.
In a recent interview, Rhea Seehorn shared her thoughts about the future of the series and the fate of her character, Kim Wexler, in the forthcoming Better Call Saul Season 5. The actress revealed that the worse is yet to come for her character. Some of those would be quite tragic," Rhea said of her character. "There are stories I could envision where she stayed with Jimmy and became something that's tragic," she added.
When asked if the Albuquerque attorney and Jimmy McGill (Oben Odekirk) would end up together in Better Call Saul Season 5, Rhea hinted it might not be possible due to their mutually toxic relationship. She added that knowing how these two characters changed since Season 1 would be more interesting than their supposed happy ever after.
Rhea, also, said that Kim would have a hard time accepting and adopting to Jimmy's transformation. Though she admitted that working on the "complex ending" was fun, her character would feel "scammed" and she thinks it is "sad and alarming." In other words, devoted supporters of the show should not expect a happy ending.
