Numerous photos then confirmed his obsession with the Nickelodeon cartoon character. G-dragon was seen sporting a Spongebob Squarepants backpack with American fashion designer Jeremy Scott, as well as Spongebob Squarepants bedroom slippers, pillows, a blinged-out cellphone case, and a lot more!
So what does G-dragon’s Spongebob Squarepants obsession had to do with Sandara Park? Well, DARAGON shippers claimed that it could be a symbol for his secret love to the 2NE1 star.
What is the connection, you ask? Well, fans said that Spongebob Squarepants’ “lady love” in the animated series is Sandy the Squirrel. Other than Dara, Sandara Park’s nickname is Sandy. G-Dragon loves Spongebob, Spongebob loves Sandy, get the picture?
The truth is, the idea of DARAGON shippers is technically true, but it is not what they were thinking. It is because Sandy is not Spongebob’s romantic interest in the Nickelodeon series, but his great pal, which is true with GD and Dara.
Despite their close friendship and undeniable chemistry on and off the stage, Spongebob Squarepants fanatic G-Dragon and Sandara Park A.K.A Sandy have constantly denied the dating rumors. Dara even explained that she sees the BIGBANG singer more like a brother than a potential boyfriend. Plus, they also have to follow YG Entertainment’s infamous dating ban between artists.
For now, it is safe to say that G-Dragon and Sandara Park are just close friends, especially because their groups, BIGBANG and 2NE1, had collaborated before and they performed together during YG Entertainment’s special events. The former 2NE1 star even said that she sees the BIGBANG star as a brother, so for G-Dragon to be her boyfriend is nothing more than fans’ wishful thinking.
