If you haven't heard, there's a new show on Netflix that has become a binge-favorite among young subscribers. Trinkets debuted on the platform last Friday, June 14, and now its growing fans are waiting for the second season.
Created by Kirsten Smith of the 10 Things I Hate About You fame, the premise of Trinkets is quite extraordinary. The Netflix logline stated that the show features three teenagers who met at a Shoplifter's Anonymous meeting.
Smith recently discussed with Hollywood Life that she's ready for the second season. With any luck, the writer and executive producer is eyeing Andrew Keegan to join the cast if it does get a renewal.
However, there are still no clear indications of whether Trinkets season 2 is happening. Since it's just a week old on the streaming platform, Netflix hasn't made any announcements about renewing the series.
"We have a lot of stories to tell, so if we're fortunate enough to get [a season 2]," Smith said. "We're armed and ready to go. I can live with these characters for a long time."
Smith also confirmed that some of the characters from her book had been tweaked for the series. Thus, they have plenty of future stories to develop for Trinkets season 2.
Brianna Hildebrand (as Elodie), Kiana Madeira (as Moe) and Quintessa Swindell (as Tabitha) star in Trinkets. One is a grieving misfit, the other is an outsider, while the third is a Miss Perfect.
However, because they all suffer from kleptomania, these unlikely characters have formed a bond. The trio draws strength from each other as they manage their disorder amid pressures from their family and society.
Trinkets season 1 ended with Elodie's uncertain status after her father told her that he's going to send her to rehab. Tabitha, on the other hand, has moved on from the Brady and Luka episode but Brady doesn't seem to be over this just yet.
Moe was left disappointed after her father stood her up and she took out her feelings by punching Brady for Tabitha. Because of what happened, Tabitha's application with the STEM program in school was revoked.
All 10 episodes of Trinkets are streaming on Netflix, where Linda Gase is the showrunner. The series also stars Odiseas Georgiadis, Henry Zaga, Brandon Butler, Larry Sullivan, October Moore, and Larisa Oleynik.
