There is currently no DARAGON, and there never was. DARAGON is a couple name created by G-dragon and Sandara Park shipper. “Dara” for Sandara, and “Gon” for G-Dragon.
Since most shipping is very any innocent and harmless, G-Dragon and Sandara Park never really saw this as an issue. The BIGBANG leader and former 2NE1 star sometimes play along and make people believe that something romantic is brewing between the two.
However, there is one main question. Are the stars even each other’s type? Was the reason why DARAGON was never official and seems that it will never be at all is that they prefer other people?
Both G-Dragon and Sandara Park are not very vocal when it comes to their love life. But when it already happened in the past, they do talk about it — at least for Dara.
Fans discovered that Sandara’s first love was a Filipino actor, Joseph Bitangcol. She has never denied this and had always been open about her relationship with him. Sandara and Joseph first met when they were competing in the same reality show in the Philippines.
As for G-Dragon, he never talked about a current or ex-girlfriend. But despite his silence, people are convinced that he previously dated a famous Japanese model Mizuhara Kiko.
With both of their exes being different nationalities, people started to wonder if the reason why DARAGON remains wishful thinking is that they are not each other’s type. Sandara even noted in an interview that she never had a romantic relationship with a Korean man before.
However, the 33-year-old singer, actress, and television presenter previously revealed that she had a huge crush with SechsKies’s Eun Jiwon when she was younger. This revelation confirmed that Sandara doesn’t only prefer Filipinos as she is also attracted to Korean men.
Some may not know this, but the main reason why G-Dragon and Sandara Park couldn’t take their friendship to the next level, even if they like each other a lot, is because of YG Entertainment’s dating ban. The company doesn’t allow its artists to date each other.
Although there were no reports that G-Dragon and Sandara Park want to date each other, it is worth noting that DARAGON will never happen — at least for now. Sandara had noted that she looks up to G-Dragon and sees him as a brother.
