Yellowstone season 2 has been building momentum ever since Paramount Network revealed that it has been bringing solid rating record on cable. But recently, fans have been angered when Paramount confirmed that a new episode would not be airing until July 10.
A post on the show's official Twitter account stated that Yellowstone season 2 episode 3 would not be airing on its usual Wednesday night schedule in the coming week. It's a public holiday in the U.S. on July 4 hence the show also be taking a day off, just like most of America.
Fans, however, were not happy with the news since Yellowstone season 2 is just on its second week of airing. The two-week wait for some viewers is quite an agony but, in a way, this is also a testament to how vested the fans are about the series.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson,Yellowstone is about the Dutton family, the owners of one of America's largest ranch. Because of the property's location, the Duttons have to always deal with issues with land developers, the government and the nearby Indian reservation. The new season, however, has brought on new problems for the Duttons with the Beck family.
Yellowstone season 2 episode 3, dubbed "The Reek of Desperation," will feature John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) talking business. The younger Dutton is taking more responsibilities in the ranch and has been getting guidance from his father, as seen in the previous episodes.
According to Popculture TV, Kayce might also finally take the plunge and confess to Monica (played by Kelsey Asbille) that he still has feelings for her. She is, after all, his wife and the one he cannot live without.
James Dutton (played by Wes Bentley) will begin his bid to run for office and meets with Chief Thomas Rainwater (played by Gil Birmingham) in Yellowstone season 2 episode 3. The newest character, Malcolm Beck (played by Neal McDonough), will unveil his plans to compete with the Duttons in the upcoming episode. Suffice to say, he's going to be trouble for the family.
"It was so much fun to jump into those boots of Malcolm Beck," McDonough said of his character, per Romper. "When I asked Taylor Sheridan [creator] who Malcolm Beck is, he goes, 'You're gonna do some dark stuff.'"
Yellowstone also stars Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Brecken Merril, Gil Birmingham, and Jefferson White. The show originally debuted last summer.
