People are not very happy with Seungri right now. The former BIGBANG star appears not to have a care in the world when he was spotted relaxing at a spa on the day that he was forwarded to prosecution.
At around 6 pm on June 26, a witness saw the 28-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, entrepreneur, DJ, and creative director at a luxury Gangnam spa with two friends. One of those companions was said to be looking out for people who were watching them.
While Seungri has all the right to relax and do whatever he wants, it seems that this is just not the right time for him to do that. You see, Seungri has just been recently charged for several crimes including prostitution and embezzlement.
With that said, a lot of people were very upset that he doesn’t seem to care about his case, and he doesn’t even appear remorseful. As expected, netizens shared their disappointment towards the former BIGBANG star on social media.
"I think he'll never come to his senses,” one said. "Hasn't changed a bit since the incident,” another one noted. "Some please throw him and Yang Hyun Suk in jail,” one netizen commented.
Also, some comments were quite sarcastic. "He's a 'Strong Baby' isn't he?" one shared. "His parents raised him reallllyyy well didn't they?" another one said.
Seungri is facing seven criminal charges, which are a solicitation of prostitution and prostitution mediation, occupational embezzlement of Burning Sun funds, occupational embezzlement of attorney’s fees, instigating destruction of evidence, violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, and violation of the Food Sanitation Act.
As for the alleged prostitution activities at his birthday celebration in the Philippines back in 2017, the police dropped the charges.
“Looking through the costs of air fare and hotel fares, it was concluded that the costs were not high enough to be suspected of prostitution payment, and only a portion of the attendees at the party took part in intercourse, not all,” a police representative said. “Lawfully, this cannot be considered conciliation of prostitution."
After all the initial allegations, Seungri retired from the K-pop world, left his group BIGBANG, and label YG Entertainment. He also postponed his mandatory military service, as he said he wanted to settle everything first before officially enlisting.
