Even though Meghan Markle has many celebrity friends who are new moms themselves, the Duchess of Sussex may have to reach out to her sister in law Kate Middleton survive her first royal tour to Africa with a baby this autumn.
According to a report by the Sun, Meghan would need to secure pointers from the Duchess of Cambridge before she leaves for the royal tour with baby Archie Harrison in tow because traveling with a child and operating within royal protocols is far different than any other trips she has taken in the past.
Royal author Katie Nicholl said that Meghan Markle's best bet to get through this trip with the least trouble is her sister in law Kate Middleton, who, with three children of her own, has navigated through the same problem in the past.
"I think Meghan has an amazing support team around her of women, fellow mothers, who are like her very high profile. Serena Williams traveled around the world with a young baby for her career as a professional tennis play. Amal and George (Clooney) travel with their twins," Nicholl said. However, she underscored that these celebrities do not have to follow royal protocol like Meghan and Kate.
It can be recalled that Kate Middleton and Prince William traveled to Australia when their firstborn, Prince George was only nine months old. While the Royals are expected to travel with nannies, there are still plenty of additional concerns because of their position.
"Kate would be in a great position to offer help and guidance when it comes to packing, traveling and touring with a royal baby," Nicholl said.
Baby Archie's nanny was reportedly appointed when he was just six months to get him settled with someone else other than his parents before they go on their trip to Africa, where they will be very busy with a wide array of social obligations and official engagements.
It is also expected that Prince Harry wants to keep Baby Archie away from the limelight and would want him to be raised as a private citizen. This was very true with Archie's christening in Windsor when only select family and friends were invited, and the media was only given official photos along with the royal announcement.
It has previously been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan have plans of establishing a base in Africa to stay there for four months a year, but logistics are still being worked out.
