The cast of American Horror Story: 1984 was recently unveiled, and Glee alum Matthew Morrison is one of the new faces in the upcoming season. This is good news for some, especially those who watched the musical comedy-drama series, as the actor will reunite with executive producer Ryan Murphy.

Right now, the role of Morrison in American Horror Story: 1984 remains unknown, but the Instagram video posted by Murphy showed the mustachioed actor rocking very short shorts. Since he's now part of the series, it marks a Glee reunion for him and Murphy, who created the hit musical comedy-drama series.

As for the other new cast members, it was previously reported Pose actress Angelica Ross would be part of the ninth season, alongside Olympian Gus Kenworthy, Dear White People star DeRon Horton, and Zach Villa. Former cast member Emma Roberts also returns, as well as Leslie Grossman, Cody Fern, and Billie Lourd.

John Carroll Lynch from season 4's American Horror Story: Freak Show also returns, where he plays the role of Twisty the Clown. Based on the first look at American Horror Story: 1984, it is possible that he could be the killer, as he opens and closes the video and his character has been referenced on later seasons.

Meanwhile, Sarah Paulson might not be returning as series regular in season 9. She could, however, return in some capacity, but with a reduced role. This is likely due to her busy schedule, especially since she has an upcoming show on Netflix's Ratched and FX's Mrs. America. Evan Peters, on the other hand, also confirmed he wouldn't be coming back in the ninth season.

There were only a few details about the premise of the upcoming installment, but it's obvious that 1984 would be the slasher-themed season. The clip shared by Murphy also showed summer camp couture, as well as '80s fashion. Also, Kenworthy and Roberts will play as a couple and that Friday the 13th will reportedly have a significant influence in season 9.

The good news is FX renewed American Horror Story for the 10th season. So, there's no need to worry as AHS: 1984 won't be the last for the franchise, even though Murphy has a deal with Netflix. All previous seasons of the series were available to stream on Hulu, Amazon, FX Now, as well as Netflix.

American Horror Story: 1984 will arrive on Wednesday, September 18, on FX.
