FX's Mayans MC season 2 is going to return on the air this fall season. The Sons of Anarchy spinoff will have 10 episodes for its second year, which likely focus on EZ's (played by JD Pardo) vengeance.
A new teaser for Mayans MC season 2 has been unveiled, and it is packed with more action than ever before. Though details around the show's plot are scarce, it's expected that EZ will go after Happy (played by David LaBrava) in the upcoming installment.
Mayans MC season 1 ended with an explosive twist that revealed it was who killed EZ's mom. However, getting back at Happy will not be quite simple, especially when he has ties with the SAMCRO gang.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pardo said that he was thrilled to learn who killed his character's mother. As a fan of Sons of Anarchy, nothing excited him more as an actor to know this twist.
"I was completely excited about it. I was so happy to see Happy. I just couldn't believe it," Pardo said. " It feels like we're really honoring the Sons actors and characters. I was really shocked and really happy about it."
But the Mayans will likely also continue dealing with Lincoln Potter (played by Ray McKinnon) in the second season. The district attorney is now handling EZ's case after clearing him for killing an FBI agent. Suffice to say, EZ has to be careful when he's around Potter, and he also has to watch his back because the Galindo cartel will also be returning in Mayans MC season 2.
With Miguel Galindo (played by Danny Pino) now heading the gang and with Marcus (played by Emilio Rivera) now part of his group, the Mayans have to thread likely with their dealings with this cartel as well. Amid all these tensions, EZ will also have to manage his relationship with his family in Mayans MC season 2.
Creator Kurt Sutter said that production for Mayans MC season 2, which started over the summer, will take around 18 weeks at least. Per TV Guide, FX has set the return of Mayans MC season 2 for Monday, Sept. 3, thus they will still be filming the rest of the episodes during the airing schedule.
Mayans MC follows EZ as he gets out of prison and becomes a prospect for the Mayans. Once a promising youth, EZ has to carve his own identity yet again. The show also stars Edward James Olmos, Clayton Cardenas, Sarah Bolger, Antonio Jaramillo, Michael Irby, Raoul Max Trujillo, Carla Baratta, and Richard Cabral.
