Avid followers of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are, still, waiting for the latest updates about their impending divorce. Many were shocked upon learning that the Descendants of the Sun stars are ending their less than two years of marriage. So, what would happen should things be finalized?
Speculations have it that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have to divide their assets equally. At the moment, the Song-Song couple, reportedly, has a total of over 100 billion net worth combined. Previous reports claimed that the Arthdal Chronicles actor's assets increased when he starred in the 2016-hit series titled Descendants of the Sun.
Song Joong Ki, reportedly, got 40 million won from endorsements alone. The 33-year-old South Korean superstar even bought a 2.5 billion won-worth property in the Seorae Village, Seocho District, South Korea, and a 10 billion won-worth mansion in Itaewon, Yongsan District. Song Hye Kyo, on the other hand, had more assets than her legal partner.
In Samseong District in Seoul City alone, the Full House actress has three properties with a combined worth of 20.6 billion won. In 2018, Song Hye Kyo even purchased a $1.7 million worth condo unit in New York City. It remains to be seen, however, how Song Joong Ki and Hye Kyo would divide their properties in the future.
It can be recalled that Song Joong Ki announced his plans to divorce from Song Hye Kyo through his lawyer after filing a mediation with the Seoul Family Court on June 26, 2019. The Innocent Man star said he wants to end things "amicably." Their respective agencies of the two Hallyu stars, also, revealed there is a slim chance that their divorce would turn into a lawsuit.
Meanwhile, recent reports stated that Song Hye Kyo was seen rubbing shoulders with some Hollywood stars in an event for the Chaumet jewelry. The wife of Song Joong Ki was snapped along with Black Swan actress Natalie Portman and LVMH CEO Antoine Arnault.
