Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 is now in the works, and things will surely be funnier this time. At the recent 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, the show's cast and crew revealed what fans could expect about the things that are going to happen.

"Bigger, better, funnier, the best," showrunner Dan Goor said about the upcoming season, via Meaww. The executive producer also revealed the new installment would continue where Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) left off.

Goor explained they would try to play off the previous season's cliffhanger, where Holt got demoted by his rival, Captain Wuntch (Kyra Sedgwick). If Hold would stay as a traffic policeman, only Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 could tell.

Aside from work, fans are about to see more of Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) in the new season. They are also going to bring back their personal- and fan-favorite characters, Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) and Judy (Craig Robinson). There are even hopes to have Marc Evan Jonson to direct an episode again.

Goor has a lot of plans for Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7. He also plans to break the norm and do something new, interesting, and challenging that is different from the previous season.

Meanwhile, the dog that played Cheddar's role made headlines as the Corgi named Stewart died earlier this month. The cast paid tribute to the death of canine as Samberg revealed they "sat shiva," a Jewish tradition of mourning, per Entertainment Weekly.

Good revealed Stewart was adorable, and they, too, loved seeing him onscreen. There were three dogs that played as Cheddar. However, executive producer Luke Del Tredici said Stewart was the "most successful" one.

So in Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7, Stewart's role would be passed to his sister, who also played as Cheddar in the scenes last season. But, Tredici revealed the younger pup is still finding its way to the series as she is still new to the business.

Meanwhile, it was earlier announced Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 would have a total of 13 episodes, five episodes shorter compared to the previous season that had 18. The show used to have more than 20 episodes when it was still on Fox, so the network might add more episodes as the time goes by.

NBC has yet to announce when the new season will be out, but it may follow Season 6's schedule. If Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 ever follows suit, it may be out in January 2020.
