The research company Glow has appointed Derek Brown as Managing Director for its Asia Pacific operations, as it looks to create more profit for its own commercial portfolio.
CSO AU reported that Brown will be given the reins to drive Glow's commercial growth in Australia, expanding their business across the region.
Brown will be based in Sydney and will bring his two decades of experience in the market research industry to the table.
Prior to setting down at Glow, Brown served as the General Manager for Sales at Bastion Collective's other business, Stable Research. He was also previously connected with Dynata, serving as its Vice President for Australia and New Zealand.
Tim Clover, the founder, and CEO of Glow said that their company happened upon Derek Brown as they searched for a senior executive with a mix of skill and experience that will "catapult the business' expansion plans" while overseeing other delicate transactions across the region it will cover.
Glow's business is certainly expanding and helping small retailers has always been the top agenda for them. Glow is an engagement platform, where retailers can overcome marketing "blind spots" and connect to customers the same way that big, established companies can, according to Power Retail.
CEO Tim Clover started Glow when he saw the disparity between large companies, who can afford to invest heavily in consumer data, and small companies with almost no budget to keep up. The glow was also founded to help consumers have a hand in the overall retail and business decision-making process, or to have a bit of control over their decisions.
The glow became that platform where it was easy for any business to get started moving their products, as well as to have a low-cost alternative to finding consumer data. It is a very inclusive app-consumers, customers, and staff all have an impact on the business process, Glover further explained.
As for Derek Brown, Glover is confident that his wealth of experience in the research industry will be an asset to Glow. His joining will improve not only management but also operational skills and sales, according to the CEO. It's a rare skill set that he looked forward to welcoming, what with the direction the company is currently taking.
Brown, for his part, said that the previous work he had with Glow in different roles will prepare him as he takes the reins. He expressed the thrill for the opportunity and looked forward to contributing to the company's growth.
