Prince William and Kate Middleton have a lot of Royal obligations since the Duke of Cambridge is the future King of England. But despite their hectic schedules, the pair makes sure to have family time.

Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis on a trip to Mustique, a glamorous private island in the Caribbean. Reports revealed that Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, came with them as well.

This Mustique trip is a much-deserved vacation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their kids. According to The Sun, they stayed in a £27,000-a-week villa (almost $33,000) for 14 days.

The villa has five bedrooms, and also has "a chef, butler, housekeeper, and private garden." While their trip sounded wonderful, people couldn’t help but think about the royal scandal that happened in the idyllic Caribbean island in the Seventies.

Princess Margaret, the only sibling of Queen Elizabeth II, loved the party life and would invite a lot of famous friends to Mustique. This was the setting that ended her marriage with Antony Armstrong-Jones after she was photographed with a much younger man on the island.

The Countess of Snowdon was 44 years old at the time and her companion Roddy Llewellyn was 27 years old. The photographs showed the pair in swimming gear in the Caribbean waters, which is quite innocent in today’s standards, but pretty controversial back in the day.

“He was highly unsuitable, so these photographs were fairly dramatic really,” Royal biographer Anne Sebba said. “Princess Margaret was after all the Queen’s sister, so what did this say about the Royal Family and their stability? The divorce could be considered a landmark moment in royal history. Princess Margaret would be the first major royal to get divorced in over 400 years.”

Despite this royal scandal, Mustique is still a favorite spot to visit of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Their love for the island was proven even more when they brought their kids along with them to experience its beauty.
