The news about Ewan McGregor possibly returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi certainly had Star Wars fans excited. After all, it could mean that other beloved characters will be revisited in the new TV series that will air on the Disney streaming service. So who will be brought back to join Obi-Wan in his new adventures? Here are five characters who are most likely to return in the show.

1. Luke Skywalker

It might seem like Luke Skywalker met Obi-Wan Kenobi for the first time in A New Hope, but the latter knew exactly who Luke is. In the prequel trilogy, Obi-Wan was the one who brought the baby Luke back to Tatooine so that the Lars family could raise him. Although Luke had never officially met Obi-Wan before the arrival of R2-D2 and C-3PO, there is a huge chance that the Jedi Master tried to watch the boy grow up. In addition to that, Obi-Wan may have been quietly protecting Luke from anyone from the Galactic Empire.

There is a huge chance that the new series will introduce a young Luke Skywalker. With that in mind, the following characters are also set to be brought back.

2 and 3. Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars

They only showed up briefly in A New Hope as well as the Star Wars prequel movies Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. However, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru are two characters who have an interesting story to tell. It's highly unlikely that the couple didn't encounter any trouble while raising the young Luke Skywalker. Additionally, a comic book has proven that Obi-Wan repeatedly tried to meet Luke but was always turned away by Owen.

Of course, this will mean that Obi-Wan will only see Owen and Beru sporadically. However, there is one character that is most likely to keep him company at all times.

4. Qui-Gon Jinn

The Jedi Master was killed off in The Phantom Menace, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't continue to guide Obi-Wan Kenobi. There are speculations that Qui-Gon Jinn will appear as a Force ghost that Obi-Wan communicates with during his exile on Tatooine. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on whether Liam Neeson will be able to reprise his role from the prequel trilogy.

The return of Qui-Gon Jinn might also be connected to another character from the prequels who happens to have a grudge against Obi-Wan Kenobi.

5. Darth Maul

Although he was supposedly killed in The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul lives on in the Star Wars Universe through the animated shows and the film Solo: A Star Wars Story. As confirmed in the TV series Star Wars Rebels, Maul never forgot about Obi-Wan Kenobi, and they eventually met again in Tatooine. However, Maul's appearance could also mean his death considering that it was Obi-Wan who killed him in the episode 'Twin Suns'.

Disney and Lucasfilm have not officially announced the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
